COGNITIVE-DISCURSIVE STUDY OF THE NETWORK COMMUNICATION LANGUAGE (on the material of Russian, English and French languages)

Abstract:  The article presents a systematic comparative study of linguistic and cognitive characteristics of network communication.
New ways of communication open up opportunities for a better understanding of digitally transformed language practices, as well as for the formation of digital culture. Therefore, it is especially relevant to study the characteristics of communication at the stage when the very fact of presence in social networks becomes more important than the content of the disseminated information.
The aim of the article is the realization of a systematic comparative presentation of linguocognitive characteristics of the network vocabulary involved in communication on Russian-, English- and French-language Internet sites.
The authors show that the sphere of digital communication includes all kinds of activities of an active user of the network, with the formation of new concepts verbalized by all possible linguistic and non-linguistic means. The study reveals word-formation models of virtual lexicon replenishment common for Russian, English and French languages (neologization, anglicization, abbreviation, metaphorization, language game). Emotional and evaluative potential of the language of network communication is noted. Analyses demonstrated national and cultural specificity due to the traditions and stereotypes of cultures and societies. The observed axiologization of digital communication has shown the importance of word-formation possibilities for brightness, expressiveness of language and making up for the lack of sensory perception in computer communication
